JomSocial 2.6 Alpha One is now available!

The JomSocial team is proud to announce the first Alpha release of the upcoming JomSocial 2.6.

This Alpha One package signals the completion of Internal Notification and Recurring event feature. We need your help in verifying the integrity of implemented features and as such, please only concentrate on these two major features. Shoot us with as many issues that you have found as possible. Do refrain from commenting on other parts of JomSocial yet as we are actively developing them right now. 

Internal Notifications

To view a list of all available notifications, please go Profile > Preference > Email and Notifications.

Recurring Event

To create a recurring event, use the 'Repeat' option while creating a new event. You may set an event to reoccur every day, week or month.

Please try this package on Joomla 1.5 and 1.7. Compatibility with Joomla 2.5 is still a work-in-progress.

For each new issue, create a new discussion in the JomSocial 2.6 Alpha One group.

One may ask, "Why do we not use the forum to handle bug reports anymore?" Well, we decided that existing JomSocial discussion feature should be able to handle that, and we will update this discussion feature over time to be on par, and better than the forum. The new upload feature is already a step into the direction.

If you are not able to download or getting 'Invalid Permission' error, please create an account first. Do take note that file upload feature is a work-in-progress too. ;)

As always, do not use this alpha release on a production site. 

The installer package is served through our spanking new file upload feature for groups. To download, sign up on the developer site, join the group linked below and look for the downloadable link on the right sidebar.
