On the menu

I would like to write a short note on our component menu items. Very early on, we have decided that we should take advantage of Joomla! menu system. Although the component itself has its own menu system, it is actually completely optional.

By implementing multiple view, you can actually create a normal menu link to any part of the system within Joomla easily. What this means is, you could disable JomSocial built-in menu system, and create your own new menu and menu module.

When create link to JomSocial from the backend, you can select which part of JomSocial you want to link to.

For example here, you can customize your "User menu" to directly link to the users inbox, groups and photos, among other things.
