Have been using Jomsocial since version 1.5 - almost 4 years. Have enjoyed the numerous upgrades,...

UPGRADE EXPERIENCE - I just upgraded my 4 websites from JS 4.1RC to the full release using the iJoomla Installer within the Joomla Admin. No issues. A tip to those upgrading - once you have upgraded clear the cache immediately. If you have a CDN like Cloudflare, don't forget to clear that out as well. I am experiencing no issues whatsoever from the upgrade. - feeling happy

I was one of a few who installed the RC Release Candidate on several sites that I manage and know for a fact you will need to redo many of your JS modules - not all but most. Take the time to document your current JS installation BEFORE you upgrade. Once the upgrade is done you will lose your layouts making the replication very difficult and time consuming. Other than the modules, using JS4.1RC has been amazing. I am about to do the upgrades to 4.1 stable release. Kudos to the team for such an amazing job! This is still THE BEST social option for Joomla by far.
Adam Love your site: Very clean and well laid out. 9 years ago

New in JomSocial is the WATERMARK feature where every picture posted on your social is watermarked with a single logo. As a social network admin, what are your legal considerations or concerns of having users post copyrighted pictures on your network and your watermark ending up on said pic? You really have no control over what content gets posted on your network. Thoughts?

Michał Ha! That's a good question. Adding a watermark to copy righted material... suggest that your site is rights owner. And that could be a trouble. So maybe with logo should be added a text "image re-posted on" (logo and text on the same image. 9 years ago

In the new JomSocial 4.1RC I changed the CSS to show the video thumbnails as full player size and the playback in the stream is also the same size. 620px by 340px appears to work well with my layout. This sample is a standard YouTube link. What do you think?

Craig Luecke /components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/assets/css/style.css is the file you want to edit. Search for the max-width: 480px; and change that to whatever the width of your news feed is. Mine is 640px. That makes the images, group banners and other graphics fill out the width. For the video under .joms-media__thumbnail { remove the next 3 lines of width: 120px; height: 120px; and display:... Show more 9 years ago

Siniša Krišan - You asked what I want... I want it put back the way it was OR we be able to determine the order of the tabs based on the install of Jomsocial on a given deployment. What we have here is a forced importance of information that does not fit the need of each install. While some feel members are important, others such as my large Jomsocial install events are a HUGE deal. Having them... Show more

Susan hi Alan - I have replied to the previous discussion asking Sinisa for this (as he offered!) But maybe you can offer the override as we ran out of developer funds. My preference for the Group page would be to see Events at the top left instead of Group Details, and without tabs. Then I would put Group Details on a tab with Members, so you can find it if you are looking, but it isn't displayed as... Show more 9 years ago

While I appreciate the new stacked module positions, it did not really address the issue with GROUPS. The EVENTS are buried into a tab and not clearly visible. Makes it very difficult to promote an event when hidden behind a tab as a secondary item. Same with important ANNOUNCEMENTS. Those appear buried to the group member. Because these are baked into the code, we cannot reassign them to a... Show more

Because these are baked into the code, we cannot reassign them to a stacked position. How can I un-tab these two important group informational items? Has anyone come up with a work-around? Code mod? As you can see I have VERY active groups (5,000 plus) and the EVENT feature is frequently used and now my members are asking where they are. The tabs are confusing them. Thanks

Susan HI, We are experiencing the same issue that Group users do not like the fact that Events aren't displayed without clicking. For us Group Details are not very important - some people will look at this once, others never. Susan I have suggestion about future developments/designs on Jomsocial. Personally I don't like uservoice.....I know you read it all Siniša Krišan, but as a user it feels like a dead end.... I think you should choose a few people who are active in certain areas and make them into a panel for you to have a more in-depth discussion about future features. eg Ask 5 or 10 people for serious input into... Alan It's worth taking the time to install a test/development site to test any and all kind of updates before going live. I used the old version of socialize and always updated the T3 plugin without issue, I would be surprised if Socialize2 actually used a custom t3 framework plugin, if it does I would have thought it kind of defeats the object of using a framework if they don't keep to it's standards. 9 years ago

Does anyone know where to edit the TIME ZONE designations or wording? They are HORRENDOUS! For the western hemisphere they make no sense at all. Thanks.
