Last week I had a problem. I could not access the Administrator website. I could log in but after logging in I would just get a blank white screen. The Front end of the site was working fine. So I began a search and found that this is a problem that many have experienced on joomla sites attributed to a faulty installation of a plugin or component etc. So, I tried reinstalling Jomsocial from a backup that I had. But that didn't fix the problem. In the meantime I contacted my web hosting provider and a few hour later they informed me that they had moved the site to a new server and the memory allocation was insufficient for the Joomla site - so they increased the memory allocated and my Administrator site stared working again.
But now I'm afraid that my attempt to fix the site actually broke it because JomSocial is acting very wierd. I an my users are being asked to re-log in at random time triggered by events like uploading pictures or trying to send messages.
After creating a photo album we are receiving a message that say we are not allowed to view this page - perhaps we should log-in or register as a member.
See Attached screen shots.
Here is the text of some of the error messages we are seeing:
Hi Jim,
can you update into jomsocial 3.2.0.2 ?? before upgrade please backup your site first.. or maybe you can try to upgrade on your development site with copy of your live site..
Warm Regards,
David
Thank you for your reply. I have backed up the site. Using iJoomla installer I chose to upgrade my jomsocial professional installation.
The upgrade process has been stuck on "upgrading database" for the last 15 minutes.
Hi Jim,
you can see on this thread :

www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/155...on-updating-database
DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR ENTIRE SITE + DATABASE FIRST..
Warm Regards,
David
Okay, I backed up entire site earlier - but I just made a specific backup of the mysql database. I then deleted the jomsocial toolbar. I logged out of the administrator site and logged back in and looked to verify that the jomsocial toolbar was gone - it was not there.
I then went to ijoomla installer, and ran the upgrade again. and again I am stuck at "upgrading database". here is a screen shot:
Also, I just tried to click on a profile of another logged on user, and the profile does appear but above it in the yellow background message box I get this error message:
Warning
JUser: :_load: Unable to load user with ID: 460

Thank you so very much!! You are the BEST!
After Testing I find only one small issue left. On the Public login page, some of the Activity Stream is appearing (see Screen shot below) - I've checked all of my modules and none of them are set to public.
Can you help me stop this content from appearing on the login landing page?
