Please read this post:

Okay, so...

1. I've seen that the hashtag feature works in status updates and can be searched using the main activity stream filter. Can hashtags also be used in discussion titles within groups and in the comments of these discussions? If so, can these hashtags be searched for in the same way, using the activity filter?

- Tried this on localhost and I'm having a problem with hashtags in public group discussions. When a hashtag is inputted into a group discussion comment it registers as a hashtag with link. However, these do not appear when doing a hashtag search. They are also not displayed if the hashtag link is clicked. Posts made onto the group wall with a hashtag do come up in search results.

Please advise.

3. Is there a way to display a notification in the main activity stream when new discussions are started in public groups or groups to which the user is a member (same as when a comment is posted on a group wall)? Can the same be done when new responses are added to discussions within these groups?

"yes this is possible, you can use the live ajax notification and use stream auto refresh configuration"

Now I have upgraded, please explain how I do this.

HI.

1. Hashtags can't be used in discussion titles.
It seems to be a bag that comments from discussions are not displayed.
I'll report it to our developers.

3. You don't need to do anything. This feature is enabled by default.

I can't test it on your site as you provided wrong credentials.

Please provide us working administrator credentials.
I can't login to your site.
Please, edit your first post and add credentials to corresponding fields.

Also, please DON'T merge few issue in one thread. So please, open new thread for issue 3.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi.

Please, make safe copy of this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/controllers/groups.php

Then replace original file with patched from package.

NOTE:
Only tag added in editor as an initial discussion post, should reflect the activity stream item, and that is the fix for it.
All tags added as a comment will NOT be taken into consideration when searching because it require a lot of processing power, and even Facebook with it's monster infrastructure don't return hashtags in comments as a result of search.
