Hi,
I have updated my test site to Joomla 3.2.1 with JomSocial 3.1.0.2 and installed the Socialize template and toolbar.
I can log in from the Socialize template with no difficulty but when I try to log-out from the top toolbar (or from the JomSocial toolbar in the main area) then nothing usually happens so I cannot log out from the Socialize toolbar
I have published a standard Joomla Log-in facility as a temporary measure on each page but would be grateful if you could advise whether I have done something wrong to cause the problem. I can find no similar reports on the forum. I get the same results on IE, Firefox and Chrome. The button does sometimes work but I have not been able to determine what the difference in circumstances is when that happens. If you can suggest steps to take to get a clearer idea that too would be useful to me.
I still need to do further work before being ready to upgrade the main site so that is still running Joomla 2.5 and does not use the Socialize template. If you are able to look on the test site I'd be grateful as I'd rather not do the upgrade to the Live site before fixing the problem.
When I originally did the Joomla 3.2.1 upgrade (from 2.5) on the test site I had the "remember me" problem to get beyond a blank screen but have since reverted that to its standard name. I've no idea if this is relevant!
Many thanks for any suggestions
Hi Jon Cutter,
Though there is a small update needed at the socialize template. Please fill up the ftp info by editing first post.
I have disabled the toolbar from main area as attached screenshot and it works fine.
Thanks
I have updated the FTP data.
Can you let me know what steps you go through so I can add it to the process I need to go through when I update the Live site.
I have just tried to access the JomSocial config on the site and get an error - screen shot attached
Hi Jon Cutter,
May be the test site access info is removed when you edit the first post.
Please provide us the access again.
Thanks
Hi Jon Cutter,
The problem "An error has occured" has fixed.
There was a problem at our update server.
Please check again.
Thanks
I'm no longer getting the "an error has occurred message" when I go to the configuration/Layout option (I hadn't realised that it placed a call on your servers).
When the "Show Toolbar" option is set to "No" then when I click the logout button on the Socialize toolbar it returns me to the Log-in screen (and asks that I login) but does not log me out - the avatar remains visible in the Socialize toolbar and I still have access to all areas of the site that require me to be logged in. So the button is doing something - but is not logging me out.
When the "Show Toolbar" option is set to "Yes" then the Logout button does nothing.
You talk of an update being needed for the Socialize toolbar and from the blog it looks as if one has been released (along with JomSocial 3.1.0.4) but neither of these can currently be applied through the tools option in JomSocial. Should I manually apply these two fixes to see if they address the problem ?
Hi Jon Cutter,
Actually the update is related with the socialize template.
BTW there may need to add the test site info again for checking. It is empty again.
Thanks
The system will not let me re-enter the Test site data - it gives me a SQL error when I try to edit the first report!
The credentials for the test site are the same as for the live site except the url ends with ".eu" instead of ".com"
There is also an alternative.
Please send me a private message from the jomsocial community.
Thanks
Hi Jon Cutter,
We need the test site url and access credentials.
Thanks
Hi John,
I have again marked the toolbar showing "no" from the jomsocial configuration as the screenshot
www.jomsocial.com/forum/socialize-templa...n-joomla-3-2-1#66997
And press logout button from the top bar, it is working fine.
And also about the socialize template, the toolbar issue changes is coming with next version. So far the current version is 1.2.3.
Please keep your eyes on
socialize.jomsocial.com/index.php/change-log
Thanks
OK, so are you saying the ONLY way (at the moment) that the JomSocial toolbar in the Socialize template can enable Logout to work is to have the JomSocial toolbar on the page switched off?
Are you also saying that a change is in the workplan so that the Logout icon in the JomSocial toolbar in the Socialize template will be active even when the JomSocial toolbar is displayed on the page - is so is there an estimated date for the fix because I don't think I can go Live with the Socialize template with the bug still there?
I like the facility to have the JomSocial toolbar as part of the template but since there are no facilities in that to link to photos, groups or events I still need the JomSocial menu on the page as well otherwise it is too difficult to navigate around these core JomSocial features.
Thanks for the help so far on this but I will keep the support topic open until the fix is available.
Best wishes
