JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

I just purchased JomSocial Pro + Social and I'm having problems installing it from the 7 zip program.
I downloaded the program, now I'm at the 7 Zip window, showing files in a folder. What do I do next to install the program? I can't find the setup file?

HI, Luis.

JomSocial is a web application for Joomla! - not a Windows executable application, so you won't find setup file.
You need to have Joomla! CMS installed on serwer.
Please, watch this tutorial.
It's for older Joomla! version but steps are nearly the same.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Thanks for your help but I didn't find the link of the tutorial.
I use GoDaddy for hosting, who helped me install JomSocial Pro. I went to the Socialize site, clicked on "Socialize" video tutorials, searched for instructions for how to install it but couldn't find anything!!

I'm logged into JomSocial and I'm on the Download page, and it's showing me the download button for Socialize. The JomSocial Pro button is grayed out, because I've already downloaded it.
Thanks.

... I mean GoDaddy helped me install Joomla, not JomSocial Pro.

Hi, Louis.

I'm sorry... here is the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Qe6ZBWB8M
You install Socialize just like any other Jomla extension.
Please, read Joomla! documentation:
docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Installing_a_template

Thanks,
I was successful downloading the three extensions. After I installed Socialize, I got a message saying “Go to template settings and click on LESS > CSS.. wait and then Save.

How do I do this? What site do I log into to, and was are the exact steps?

Not for sure if I did it correctly. I went into Joomla site, went to the Extensions on the menu bar, then Templates. On the right side of the screen I went to the Socialize template. At the top of the screen says Templates Customise. I clicked on the button - </> LESS to CSS. Nothing happened. There wasn’t any Save button!!!

Thanks

Hi, Lusi.

It means this save button: i.imgur.com/c57kWNO.png
You probably didn't noticed that after clicking </>LESS to CS a progress bar appears right below top menu.
If nothing happens then it means it's ok - no errors :)

Hi Michal,
I successfully installed Social. I thought JomSocial Pro and Social would be installed together!
In my JomSocial account, they're listed as separate items. Do I know install JomSocial Pro? It this why I can't find my social networking template to modify, because JomSocial Pro isn't installed? In my Joomla account, under templates, I only see the Socialize template that I successfully installed? Do I access/modify my social networking site/template from with my Joomla account or JomSocial account?

My domain is www.junBugg.net , that I got from GoDaddy. Do I put this into the fields that say ...."Which domains would you like us to support." Will I be charged extra money for this?
There is a top, one line box, and a box below it for multiple. Which one do I enter my domain They both have red stars next to them.

Thanks.

Hi, Luis.

JomSocial and Socialize are two separated products.
JomSocial is a component and plugins-modules pack.
Socialize is a template.
Socialize change Joomla! layout. You need to have template in order to use Joomla!
JomSocial doesn't affect Joomla! in any way and it;s displayed inside template.

Please, edit your first post here and provide site credentials.
I'll take a look into your settings.

You hold JomSocial Pro, what means ONE domain/site will be supported.
So you may safely provide your domain into: "Which domains would you like us to support." filed.
No, you won't be charged any extra.
Also you may provide additional domains under that field - they are just information for us on how many sites you're actually use JomSocial (you may use it on many sites but only ONE will be supported by us).

Hello Michal,
Where you able to look at my settings?
I edited my last post and entered my user name and password for Joomla website. Is this what you mean by site credentials?

I also successfully installed JomSocial Pro. Now I have Social and JomSocial Pro installed. Which site do I log into to edit my social networking site? I logged into my server with GoDaddy, but that took me to my regular Joomla website template (non-social networking)! I also logged into Joomla Portal, which also took me to the regular Joomla website template.

HI.

Installing template is one, one you need to set it as default template:
docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Switching_templates

I want to be able to check your site settings.... that is Joomla! backend on your server.

You need to edit your FIRST post here.
Then provide site credentials - that is: user name and password.

DON'T post them in post content but in special fields below main content.
When you click EDIT button under your first post here, you should scroll page a bit down to see this: i.imgur.com/Aauu43z.png
Provide necessary details ad save.

Michal,
This is frustrating! I just want to start editing my social site. I’m so annoyed!

I entered and saved my credentials in my first post. I also saved the Social template as the default. I logged into Joomla, went to my web site but didn't see my social template. Instead I got a different website. See attached screenshot.

Also, when I saved Social as default, I noticed there was another template saved as Default, called “Isis.” Next to it says “Administrator.” What is this? Should I remove this as default for delete it?

Thanks for your assistance.

Also, what do you mean by….. “DON'T post them in post content but in special fields below main content?”

HI, Louis.

I understand that this is frustrating... but you've just learning. If you want to star Joomla! CMS based site you first need to learn basics. Without it you'll be frustrated. That's why I suggested to watch some tutorials and read Joomla! documentation first. This is just like having a new mobile with Android when previously you had old mobile with Symbian. The same way you get frustrated as you used to other menu and functionalities - you just need to learn hot things works and how to manage them. So don't give up :) Just use Google more often. Joomla is very well documented and in YouTube you'll find a lot of tutorials.

You provided site credentials correctly.

Your site displays Socialize template as default: i.imgur.com/yYO7tTm.png
So this is fine.
Isis is default template for backend (backend just like frontend uses templates).

Now you need to crate menu for your site.
By default you have Home menu item in Main Menu that displays featured articles.

I noticed that you didn't installed JomSocial yet.
Install it the same way you've installed Socialize - by using Joomla! installer:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Qe6ZBWB8M

“DON'T post them in post content but in special fields below main content?”
I meant to NOT post any credentials in post content... that is the text you're reading now.
Our posts are visible to anyone logged on forum... so they are public.
I'm sure you don't want to post your site credentials publicly, don't you? :)
