Configuration > Privacy > Default User Privacy

All users are set to public but when user sign ups it is shows its restricted
I have to reset every time someone signs up to get a public profile
I would like it to be default as instructed in documentation

And how you know that newly created profiles have set profile privacy to Members... or any other?
I just registered on your site and after log in I checked profile privacy: prntscr.com/454pyt
There no privacy dropdowns... so I don't know what privacy is set...
We could check that in database to be sure.
But I think that issue here is no privacy settings displayed in profile.

As I can see in Troubleshoot you modified files related with profile: prntscr.com/454ssx
So it's very possible that customization broke privacy feature.
So only I can advise here is to roll back any changed done to modified files and check again if issue persist.

was the only files I modified on jomsocial (this issue has to be fixed then patched i assume?)

I will roll back the other files even though I don't recall touch anything but that and privacy, Ill update thread when complete

do you know if the patched modify those pages? because I would hate for that other upload cover bug to occur again...

the patch is was was modified the thoes files? do you guys have to roll out with an official update or something in order to support my jomsocial. because duplicate image issue will return back with i remove. please let me know....

I have revert back to default so that nothing is modify and problem is still there

in addition this issue is back: (multiple images upon upload - now that i removed patch, therefore both issue are occuring now even though jomsocial is on default.)

Ok, I see that changes are rolled back.
I suspect that there could be 3rd party conflict... but not sure. So lets ask developer to have a look.

I need to download your site from Akeeba backup for make local copy. I need your permission first.
Because on debugging process (related with your issue) i need to inspect code + DB, and disable some plugins. It can "damaging" your site. Too risky doing it straight to your live site.
