Hello,

My customer is having difficulty with the flow of datepicker for birthdate fields (and I assume it would occur anywhere datepicker is called) where they think it's too difficult to choose Month/Year or Year/Month then click on Day to set the field.

Is it possible to enable direct text editing of this field in addition to datepicker, as well as to update field if currently set on month/year change?

See item 3 in this post as well, it is same issue:

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hello,

I realize this is limitation of jQuery UI. How can I change the field instead to be no readonly and use icon trigger?

Hi, Geoff.

You can set Read only" to "yes" or "no" when editing field in backend.

Thanks Michal, I have it set as "no" in backend but still cannot type directly in field.

See attachment.

Hi, Geoff.

No, by design this field could be only set using calendar. You can't type anything directly.
Changing this could break registration flow or any other birth date related features.
And it's also will require core files hack... what is not recommended.

You can ask for feature here: uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
Or hire a developer to customize your system: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

That's all I can do as we don't provide any core files hacks... I'm sorry.

Ok thanks!

I'm definitely never doing core hacks for JS again. Did some back in JS 2, not a good idea.
