Limit the user' status and read more option

Hi,

User writes a long status or it's brought from the facebook status by the fb connect.

Some of its status are long, very long - when it's displayed as streaming feed it looks bad !!!

Any option to limit the status display for X words and adding the "read more" option?

please advise.

As for now it can be changed only via custom coding so you'll need help of professional developer:

I agree that such a feature would be nice... but only you can do is to add feature request here: uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
And ask Community users to vote for it...

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi Michal,

Thank you for a quick service.

However it seems a basic feature if jomsocial is a social networking platphorm similar to facebook and better :-)

while you improve your product often, coding features and making changes, prevent us to upgrade the product to current versions.
Please consider it.
I opened it as a suggested feature.

I agree with you. Just checked it on our Community.
Yes, a really long status looks bad...
But all I can do in this matter is to suggest user to post a feature request.
