Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
but the administrator, Dimas Tekad Santosa, wrote this: "Please check again, I just fix this.. I also you also need edit file components/com_community/views/views.php line 286-288"
static public function profileView($userid, $asset, $user)
{
// new modification
$mainframe = JFactory::getApplication();
$jinput = $mainframe->input;
$userid = $jinput->get('userid', $my->id, 'INT');
// new modification end
$viewer = CFactory::getUser($userid);
....
....
...
// Check based on privacy setting
// comment out this: (and add below line) $param = $user->getParams();
$param = $viewer->getParams();
i'd like to know what exactly did he fix to the coding just above his post. and what needs to be edited on line 286-288 in the views.php.
Yes, you can't add post in topics that you don't own.
Nevertheless I assign this topic to Dimas so he could tell you about his fix ;)
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

the issue i face is similar to the one mentioned on that other thread, in that members who aren't friends can view each others profile, even when the privacy is set to friends only.
and it worked. only friends can view another member profile.
but when you said "Please check again, I just fix this.. I also you also need edit file components/com_community/views/views.php line 286-288". i figured i might have missed something out.
