JomSocial Active

Hi,

I have a problem with the new user registration, on JomSocial 3.1.0.4, Joomla 3.2.2. I saw there is another recent forum topic that seems a bit the same, yet there are some differences.

On the site we have the Joomla core login module for loggin in, and we redirect the 'register' link of this module to the registration form of JomSocial (/component/community/?view=register). We want account activation to be moderated by an admin. In JomSocial I could not find any options for setting this, so I tried the Joomla core settings instead. But neither account activation by admin, nor self activation turns out to work correctly.

What happens if you fill out the form. It should consist of multiple pages, the first page containing some general fields and the second page containing 3 custom fields. However, after submitting the first page the process is stopped. The user is prompted with a 'Log in to continue' type of message (our site is not in English) and the Joomla core login component. Also, the user receives an e-mail which refers to the username and password that were submitted, but no link for activation (regardless of the account activation settings).

Apart from this, nothing happens. No notification to the admin, and no creation of a database entry for this new user.

Hope you can help me soon. Can provide additional details anytime.

Kind regards,
Frits

Hi, Frits.

Solved.I registered with success :)
I created a menu item linked to register page in JomSocial and registration start to work.
I created it in "verborgenMenu" (no clue what that means - Google Translation also don't know :)
Please check it if it works for you also.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Ok, so all it takes is to have a menu item for that page? I checked and registration works fine now indeed. Both self activation and admin activation (which we need) are running ok.

The Dutch word 'verborgen' means 'hidden', so 'verborgenMenu' is a hidden menu. Which is exactly the place where I would like to see this menu item.

Maybe you submitted 'verborgenMenu' as one word to Google Translation, I suppose that a combination like that is too confusing for Google. The word 'verborgen' should be no problem.

Thanks, problem solved,
Frits
