All permissions are set to Friends only
However I have tried viewing newly registered users without logging into site and I am able to see profile page and comments by other users in some cases.

Nope, you need to provide site SU credentials each time... I'm sorry but even if you pasted them in the past, I won't check if they are valid or not or where are they. Please, value our time like we value your :)

- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

If you valued my time you would have not given me a test version and simply hoped it worked, the fact is I still have the "test" version that was given to me because there was another issue in photo links in chats.
Never got a n updated version with the fixes....? Maybe it is because of the test version we I am experiencing issues, so please, let us not get into who is wasting who's time. Thanks
By the way, can you PLEASE have a look now. so I can actually use the system tomorrow.
If that is not too much to ask of course?

Chat do not store old messages - they are gone after some time. So I don't see your older messages.
That's why I ask to post on forum in special credentials box.
Everyone do as we ask - and that's completely SAFE.

I've checked credentials you've sent... they do not work :(

As for the test version... well, Dimas is no longer with us. Let's this be a comment to the issue.
If you want o get rid of that version:

1. Download JomSocial 4.5 and install it on top of your "test" version.
2. Then apply this patch.

Issue you experience now is not related with test version but rather with permissions. That's why I need to access your site and check it.

PS: Please, note that we work till 16:00... I check forum at the night only because I'm a work junky :)

So, if you could please install the current version without the "photo attachment bug in chat"
and also ensure permissions are working as expected, I would really appreciate it
To recreate this issue
1 Create test user
2 log out
go to test user profile page, see that you can see profile of test user

The way you provided credentials are not safe. Only this way is safe:

1. Edit your first post.
2. Click switch below main text field: prntscr.com/fk3hdg
3. Provide your site details: backend URL, admin credentials and FTP: prntscr.com/fk3hwz
4. Let us know that you provided credentials by posting in the same thread.

The issue you experience is caused by your settings. You've set profile to be displayed for friends. That will hide profile details and stream. Cover and other info will be public. If you want to hide this as well, you need to set privacy to "Members". :)

As for changing to 4.5 - next week we'll release 4.5.1 so you'll upgrade then. It will include "photo thumbnail" fix as well.

then navigate to this user without logging in

as you can see permissions work on this profile, but not for the newly created profiles
So, this is nothing to do with setting to friends only, in respect to being a guest, the guest user should see nothing apart from this message "You cannot see this profile due to privacy settings." on the page.
this is not the case for the test user account when viewing as guest
And in fact, that should in my opinion a choice for the registered user, to appear in the list, or to simply show a login page without giving confirmation that the person is actually a member of the site.

Okay, so clear Joomla! cache and check now.
I've reset all users settings to match backend settings.
Now I can't see testuser profile even if privacy was set to "Friends".
Sorry, I was wrong - this was rather related with caching.
Please, check if it's fine now.
