finally upgraded but site is still very slow

Please, check now.
Our developer said:

"The table index for chat table has been added."

If that won't work - issue seems to be on your server side. You will need a faster server.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

I thought this was added via regular component installation?

Can you provide an instruction to do this manually? I will have to do that on live site on upgrading, too.
I will give it a new try soon. And please give me an answer to this:

Thanks for the new beta. Looks nice. But the problem persists: If either JS Toolbar or JS Notification is activated the checks run continuously. Please update those modules to have a global setting or use the chat checking time. In my opinion this way these problems could be solved.

Hi Guido,
Sorry for the delay in support. Our development team applied some changes directly on your beta site to fix this issue.
Please have a look at the beta site and test the site.
Here is the changes details: /components/com_community/models/chat.php
I attached the copy of the chat.php file in this post so that if it works on you beta site you can replace the chat.php for your live site as well to fix this issue.

Let us know about the results after testing on your other site.
Make sure its BETA Version and I do not suggest you to use Beta version for live running site
Hope it will fix slow speed issue.

Thank you I will try it. Please clarify on the checks of JS Toolbar, JS Notification and JomSocial component navigation.
They all are looking for new messages and notification. Do they check the same over and over or do they not disturb each other. I am waiting for an answer on this since two months.

Hi
the notification script only one for JS toolbar, JS notification and jomsocial nav.
one script is used for all its not multiple scripts for notification checking.
Please make a test and check. The beta version is not stable so it will have some issue that will be fixed to make it stable.


Do not try the beta version on live sites.

we could not do a more public test yet. I will acquire more users to test it more deeply. it runs well with just a couple online.
