Dear supporter
1) I can upload videos to local server now, but when deciding to use remote storage of my bucket at S3, I got a 500 internal server error (I have increased the timeout, but still get the error). I had to change the storage to local server again.
2) I could upload photos while in remote storage mode, but the pictures were saved at local not at S3.
How can I fix it. Your reply is really appreciated
Regards
Nabi
Hi Hassan,
Seems your videos are really big, you also need to increase again the timeout from your php configuration, or contact your server admin and ask the advice from them.
thank you!
Hi Dimas
1) with the same timeout I can upload video and pictures to local host but not to the S3.
2) about photos: although I configures the S3 parameters, still photos are uploaded to local server. At this time I had to change to local server again. How can I configure S3 except those parameters mentioned at the config page? (bucket name, Access key, and secret key)
Regards
Nabi
Hi Hassan,
1. yes, because if your processing on your local server you dont need big bandwith, different with S3 you need connect to 3rd party server
2. to avoid the confusing, I suggest you create new topic for photo issue.
thank you!
Dear Dimas
I increased the timeout and do not get any timeout error, but when I run the cron job from backend, it can not find the video while it can be seen at "All Videos" tab.
Please consider that the video is less than 10 MB. It is also shown at the pending video tab at frontend.

Hi Nabi,
Have you setup the FFMPEG? because the video will be going to pending video first, and will be converted via cron job, but make sure the FFMPEG is working.
Another solution, if you used S3 amazon, you can use zendcoder for this alternative
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/ZenCode...mazon_S3_Integration
Thank you!
Hi Dimas
Thanks for the reply.
The ffmpeg library is installed with the latest version (2.8). Before using S3, I used local server and video was uploaded and converted; I did not have any problem.
At this time when S3 has been set up, all photos are uploaded to S3, but videos can't be uploaded. At the backend I can see videos in pending status. When I run cron job manually, the is a message mentioning no video to be converted.
Because of low price of Amazon and its durability and stability, I prefer to use it instead of Encoder.

Nabi
Hi,
I suggest you use zendcoder, because if you wanna use upload video feature and set to S3 you should use zendcoder
thank you
Dear Dimas
You mean Jomsocial is not compatible with Amazon services for video uploading and converting?
I can use my own server resources such as ffmpeg to cover video. What is the reason that we using S3 for storage, I am not able these resources to convert them any more and have to pay 5 cents a minute to zencoder?
