Hi Tom,

please check it. your video has been converted:

here that I did:
1. login to video page
2. add video, select upload section
3. after completed
4. execute the cron job manually from jomsocial backend > monitor > mail queue, and click execute cron.

Done

Hi Albertus,

So I should do that for every video I or others want to upload or is it just for my own videos?

Hi Albertus,

Just a short question as I forgot. What is the recommended settings for cron jobs so Everything execute without doing it manually on the backend?

11 years 5 months ago
Licenses:

Hi Tom,

cron job only need to execute:
http://[your site domain]/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron

and the execution time at least every 5 minutes. so after video uploaded. at least 5 minutes later will be converted.

for more about cronjob. you can asking your server support. its common things for server.

Hi Albertus,

There is one thng I don't really understand. In the documentation for setting up cronjobs it shows the following in the JS site:

wget -O /dev/null " www.domain.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron " > /dev/null

Thats fine, but why does it show wget -1 /dev/null " www.domain.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron " > /dev/null on my server and shouldn't the converting does per automatic? Is the -1 meaning it has to be done manually all the time when someone upload a video?

Hi Tom,

please asking your server support about cronjob issue. not all server having same configurations and not always using wget
