How can I Upload Photos via Jomsocial without resizing them?
How can I Upload Photos via Jomsocial without resizing them?
In Jomsocials config you can choose the quality ouput of uploaded photos. But Very High doesnt mean Original. That means when I upload a very very large photo (for example 16 MegaPixel photo) , it will be still resized by jomsocial ,but I need its actual size.
Jomsocial saves three kinds of photos. 1. thumbnail 2. preview 3. original (Jomsocials gallery has an download button for the original picture)
But the shame is, that it isnt actually the "original" photo. Its a resized photo (jomsocial defines that size as "very high" in its config).
A possible solution could be now to change that definition of "very high". Or just remove the whole resize function (I think a javascript code).
But the problem is that i have no php or javascript knowledge. And if I had, i wouldnt be sure where the relevant code is placed.
Browsing Internet is all about speed. So loading a very very big photos have two drawbacks: 1) they need time to load so page loads longer (I don't even mention how frustrating it is, especially for mobile Internet users) 2) a very very big image will brake your template (just push it over limits) or will be displayed in very bad quality as it will be resized down to fix template (so photo will become granular).
But this is your choice.
There could be an option to lift up photos quality. Please read this topic:
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
