ISSUE SUMMARY:

When logging in to our site, the user is directed to the JomSocial home page. When arriving on this page, all users (including the Super User) are always shown this error on the first visit only:

"Error: You are not authorised to view this resource."

It is in a red box, immediately above the Activity Stream.

This seems to be the text for JERROR_ALERTNOAUTHOR . I have been unable to resolve what is causing this, but when I turn off the "system output" for this page (via the Template's interface) the error does not appear, leading me to think it is related to the JomSocial output.

If you can help identify the source of the error that would be greatly appreciated!

(BTW - In your replies, please don't include any urls.)

regards,
Geoff

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Log in to the front end, and note the error in the red box. This occurs for all user levels, including Super User.
2 Refresh the page, the error is gone.

RESULT
EXPECTED RESULT - No error
BROWSER - Tested on Chrome, Safari, Firefox

Thanks Albertus, I'll have a look at that. Well done. Have you had issues with JEvents and JomSocial in the past?

Hi,

JEvents as a 3rd party extension. so far no issue with it.
your site issue can be JEvents misconfiguration, not sure for that.

I just disabled all the JEvents extensions as you had done, but the error continues. Did you log out and in again? The error always appears only once immediately after a log in.

Thanks,
Geoff

I have discovered that the error goes away only if 1) SEF is turned off, or, 2) The System Output is hidden for the JomSocial page (other modules appear OK). So the error does appear to be related to JomSocial.

Also, the JomSocial admin page is not loading properly in the backend, the User Engagement and Data Statistics don't load and none of the links in the left column work.

Can you help - urgently?

thanks,
Geoff

Thanks, yes that table exists and has quite a lot of data. To grant you access to the database at Siteground I need your IP address.

Thanks,
Geoff

It seems Siteground only provides one account login to Cpanel. As a contractor, I am unable to grant this to anyone for security reasons. I did however, provide access to the database. The login should also provide FTP access. Is that OK?

thanks,
Geoff

Thanks Albertus, but the JomSocial admin page won't load properly in the backend of the website.
