JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

ISSUE SUMMARY:

I create menu item "search" in jomsocial toolbar. For the menu item type I select "Standard Search" from "Community". After selection the link field shows the appropriate command line "index.php?option=com_community&view=search".

I add the menu item "search" to the jomsocial toolbar menu (as sub-menu item of "members") and save. However, when clicking the menu item in the jomsocial toolbar I'm taken to the member list. Hovering over the newly added menu item "search" shows that it doesn't link to the search-script, but members-script.

As a side-effect also member searches started from socialize search field don't work. Like before a member list is delivered, while it should be the search result.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 I create menu item "search" in jomsocial toolbar. For the menu item type I select "Standard Search" from list "Community". After selection the link field shows the appropriate command line "index.php?option=com_community&view=search".

2 I add the menu item "search" to the jomsocial toolbar menu (as sub-menu item of "members") and save.

RESULT
When clicking the menu item in the jomsocial toolbar I'm taken to the member list. Hovering over the newly added menu item "search" shows that it doesn't link to the search-script, but members-script.

As a side-effect also member searches done with the help of the socialize search field don't work. Like before, a member list is delivered, while it should be the search result.

EXPECTED RESULT
Menu item "search" in jomsocial toolbar can be used for quick member searches, and should deliver search results instead of member list

Hi, Randolph.

Thank you for reporting this. It was a valid bug in 4.0.9.
We fixed it but it appear again in 4.1.
I reported it to our developer.

Nevertheless, could you try to test fix from here: www.jomsocial.com/forum/profile-universa...-members-not-working ?

JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

The error returned after update to JS 4.1.1. Again, menu item "search" in jomsocial menu links to page "all members". So, when doing a "search" from the JS navbar users are taken to the "all members" page, instead of search page.

Same for socialize 2.1 search field. When trying to issue a member search, users are taken to the "all members" page.

Hi, Randolph.

I'm sorry but I can't replicate your issue in JomSocial: i.prntscr.com/1010c91fa89f463da3952a8bbbdb4f9d.png
This issue rather apply to Socialize search field.
Nevertheless this is a bug in template search field so I'll report it.

hi Michal,

can't see the screenshot. Seems a wrong link.
Ok, I see. Copied the link manually. The link works.

Hi Michal,

my result is completely different.

It seems to me that you go to the member page first, and then use the "member search" field on the top right corner of the page in order to do the search. This method also works for me.

However, it seems impossible to search directly from the navbar item "search". Under the menu item "members" there is 3 sub-items:

1. All members
2. Advanced search
3. Search

When hovering the mouse over each of these menu items you can see that the first 2 links point to the right page (" XXX/browse.html* ", " xxx/advancesearch.html ").

However, when hovering the mouse over the sub-menu item "search", it points to " *XXX/members.html". This is definitely wrong. I have looked this up on your demo page and from there can see that the proper link would be " XXX/search.html".

Sorry, but my problem is not resolved.

Hi, Randolph.

It doesn't mater as I get correct result after browsing to ROOT/community/members/browse.html Just "members" and "Search" are the same page. So results are the same.

So only fault here is in search field in toolbar.

Hi Michal,

I wonder how far you did get with this issue. I had to disable the search field of the socialize toolbar, because it's confusing users when searching for members, but not receiving any result.
