ISSUE SUMMARY:
I tried to set up my users geo locations but unfortunately it won´t work properly as those information will be saved as 255 to the database.

We are not use that field anymore, for the geo location now we stored them on this table #__community_location_cache

I´m using HelloMaps on the activity stream and need therefore the geo locations in more detail than just the country.

Hi Marius,

You can use it by using table community_users, you need join the fields location records with location caches, this is really tricky.. you need help from 3rd party developer to achive this.

but even in the backend (Jomsocial tab) the users will only be located in the correct countries on the map, but not the cities or street addresses, even if the information is given. That´s not how it´s supposed to work, is it?

The members map in the back end won´t show the exact location of my users although the needed information is provided.

Jomsocial dashboard only take the city not the detail address, if you think you wanna this feature please you post your idea to our user voices.
