ISSUE SUMMARY: First, the printed instructions and video for working with Facebook leave something to be desired, as they do not match the current Facebook process.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Clicked 'Start a Submission' under 'Submit Items for Approval'
2 Was presented with a list of items to check; have no idea what to check for a 'basic' integration
3 What should/needs to be checked?
4 When I check the minimal number of options I thought should be checked, I got the notice I attached.

Hi, Jay.
Your app need to be able to post status on FB, import status from FB, import/export avatar, had access to email, user name, birthdate, gender.
You can ignore the rest.
Hi, Jay.
They are... just pick from the list:
publish_actions
read_stream
user_birthday
user_location
user_status
Remember that you need to explain why you need access to those data.
Hi - Did you view the image I sent? Those are the options Facebook presented me. None of your suggestions are on that list. I cannot proceed without checking (I presume) at least one of them. The 'add items' button is not available.
Hi, Jay.
Please, check again:

If you have issues with submission - please contact with FB technical support.
Hi - My apologies for missing what you posted. The extra items you posted confused me, as they are not options on the list. So it appears that configuring JomSocial for use with Facebook is actually quite involved. To be clear, I am not saying that is the fault of JomSocial, but it does not appear to be very easy. I didn't know I had to be an expert in Facebook apps to make it happen.
When I check the recommended box, I see what is shown in the attached. Is that something I need to do within JomSocial, or somewhere else?
So following the Facebook process (I think), I was told I had not created any API requests for the app, which needed to be done before I can seek approval. So I tried when I see the page on my site where it asks me to do what you see in screenshot_35, I checked the second option. After clicking 'Next' I got what you see in screenshot_34.
Also, I had someone that is not a registered user on my site, but *is* a Facebook user, try the first option. They get a notice that things are not correctly setup. So it looks like Facebook wants me to test things before I can submit the app for approval, but I cannot test things due to an 'undefined error'. Not a very useful error message, by the way.
Hi - I just wanted to give you another opportunity to reply before I head over to the JED and write a review for JomSocial based primarily on this experience with support. You have to understand that I am not a Facebook app developer, nor do I have any desire to be, so I don't know anything about how to create a Facebook app to connect JomSocial to Facebook. That is why I am relying on *your* documentation to connect *your* product to Facebook. Since your video and other documentation does not match (or even come close from what I see) to the actual process, I sought help via the forum. After initially starting to help, I have now been ignored. That is not very professional. I am asking legitimate questions about a legitimate problem connecting *your* product to Facebook via a feature included in JomSocial that supposedly works.
Hi, Jay.
You're not being ignored - please, understand that you're not the only one with issues on forum.
After we released JomSocial 4 there many requests on forum...
Also you constantly post in your thread what make it to land on the end of pending list as it's refreshed all the time.
We start on oldest threads. If you want to add something to the thread you should edit it and not post again.
In a fact posting one by one you delay support....
I may check your Facebook settings but you need to provide me with FB credentials.
Please, edit your first post here and provide FB credentials.
Hi Michal - It sure feels like it. I will edit the post as you suggested in a few minutes. In the meantime I wanted to add that with clear, accurate and updated documentation, then the need for support via the forum would drop. Sure you are always going to have those that post in the forum because they are too lazy to read documentation or watch a video tutorial. That is not me. I wrote my first software solution in 1977, so I have been doing this for a while. Never underestimate the power of accurate documentation, and never assume something done last week is still current.
Hi, Jay.
I agree that documentation need to be improved... especially when Facebook changed a lot since last year.
This will be done for sure.
I also want to add that our support is not instant support. We work in 8 hours shifts in different time zones (I'm in CET currently).
I'll also need your Joomla! backend credentials in case I'll have to change settings in JomSocial. Please, add them to the first post credentials box.
