chat/message system just spins.... What's the deal?

My test copy of my site is doing the same. If you find a fix for this please can it be posted here as it might help me. My other site updated with no issue on a clean install.

I suggest you create new topic for it, because can be the issue is different with this topic.. but mostly this issue is coming from javascript conflict.

to fix this, please try open this file components/com_community/models/chat.php, find this code

$js = 'components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/dist/bundle.min.js';

$js = JURI::root(true) . '/components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/dist/bundle.min.js';

This didn't work.

Not sure if this will help anyone else having this issue, but I had a plugin that stopped people right clicking. I found that no modal boxes would pop up (such as search or accepting friend requests). As soon as I disabled the anti-theft plugin, chat worked and I could click the search button again.

I am sorry for delay answer, I was on holiday weekend yesterday.

This issue is caused by javascript error on your template, when I use another template the chat is showing fine..
