ISSUE SUMMARY:
My site is currently running JS 3.2.1.6. When I try to upgrade to 4.2.3 the process always hangs at "updating database."
I have installed a backup copy of the site in a subdirectory: devtest
Could you please login and see if you can tell me what I am doing wrong?

you need to upgrade it to version 4.0.10 > 4.1.7 > 4.2.3
you cant jump from 3.2.1.6 to 4.2.3

if you got stuck at upgrade process, please provide me cpanel/phpmyadmin access detail. because it can be some conflict at database records.

Ok, I followed the install instructions and it DOES NOT hang on upgrading database. However, the JomSocial Control Panel still does not show in admin. I get a blank page.

Also, why does iJoomla Installer still indicate "Upgrade Required"? (See attached image).

yes you need to upgrade again. seem the upgrade not properly working.
please provide me database access or hosting cpanel. by editing your first post at this topic. put it at site info form (it's private)
so I can tackle this issue more faster.

please check it. your jomsocial has been updated to 4.2.4
the issue was with x9fa2_community_files table.

seem this site still on dev site. if you want to upgrade your live site, please compare the table structure.

I couldn't make changes to the live site table structure as you suggested. So, after I perfect the dev site I will upload it to the live server.

However, I am getting a little crazy. This is what I have installed:

Socialize 1.2.6
JomSocial 4.2.4
Joomla! 3.6.2

With ALL JomSocial stuff I thought everything would be perfect. But the Avatars, photos, videos are not sizing correctly. Avatars are not round. You get different results in Microsoft Edge vs IE 11. In Edge the avatars don't show in the profile header. The avatars look round if a sidebar module is installed, oval if not???

Would you please login and tell me what I am doing wrong.
