Hi, Nikos.

Do you want to transfer those data from one installation to another?
Or just do an upgrade in one an the same instance (Joomla! installation)?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I want to transfer them from one installation to another!!

Hi, Nikos.

Hmm... transferring data is quite complicated as they are cross related in database.
I think that the best option is:

- making a copy of existing site
- move it to another location
- clearing it from any nu-necesarry extensions
- do an upgrade to Joomla! 3.4.8
- do an upgrade to JomSocial 4.1.5

There is paid extension that may help: extensions.joomla.org/extension/jomsocial-user-import-export

The problem here is that if you want to move database data from one installation to another, you need to have exact the same versions of extensions (both Joomla! and JomSocial) as db architecture may differ.

Ok let's suppose that I do what you suggest. How do I upgrade from JomSocial 2.6.2 to JomSocial 4.1.5??

Hello again,

I have updated with success JomSocial from version 2.6.3 to 3.0.x in my Joomla 2.5.
Can you tell me which folders do I need to copy(i.e. photos, videos etc), from my old installation(Joomla 2.5, JomSocial 3.0.x) to my new one(Joomla 3.4, JomSocial 3.0.x), in order the content not to be lost from one installation to another?

With regards.

Hi, Nikos.

Browse via FTP to ROOT/images and copy those folders:

avatar
comments
cover
eventphotos
files
groupphotos
originalphotos
originalvideos
photos
videos
watermarks

It may be that you just don't have in your old installation some folders, then just copy those you have.
Rest will be created by JomSocial in new instance.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I moved everything and I want to update to JomSocial 4.1.5. Now I have installed joomla 3.4.8 and JomSocial 3.0.5.3. In order to update, do I need to follow a specific path(i.e. 3.1 and then 3.2 etc, and finally 4.1.5) or I just update(from joomla manage) to "com_community_std_4.1.5.zip". Also if I try to do this process with the "iJoomla-Installer-Updater.zip" I get a "not register license" sort of message.

With regards.

HI, NIkos.

Using iJoomla Installer would be much easier... I need to access your site.
Please, edit your first post here and provide site credentials. Especially htaccess.

I have done that already. My credentials are in the first post.

Hi, Nikos.

For htaccess credentials are fine.
It seems that htaccess and backend credentials should be the same... but apparently they're not.
Could you check it?

My guess here is that you are trying to enter to " feelcook.gr/administrator " but that's my old setup(from which I am trying to migrate). My Joomla 3 and JomSocial(which I want to update to 4.1.5) is located at " feelcook.gr/demo-feelcook " and " feelcook.gr/demo-feelcook/administrator "

Hi, Nikos.

I'm using credentials you provided in credentials box:
i.imgur.com/4FrK4of.png

You provided the same user/password for htaccess and backend... so I using them but they worked only for htaccess.
