HI, Gabriela.
It seems that you didn't configured video conversion:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Video_L..._Upload_Requirements
Nor set cron job:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Setting_Up_Cron_Job
Without those settings videos will be not converted...
,,Verry nice"
we was used shared for previous version - and was not so many complications - just upload and play - with our conversions and host requirements additional thinks.
the version become not better but less usable...
any other option to allow users to upload they video?
Hi, Gabriela.
I saw that you already opened similar thread here:
www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/313...s-can-t-upload-video
There is no need to duplicate...
What previous version do you mean?
Since remote upload was implemented in JomSocial it require configuration of cron job and FFMPEG library.
It doesn't matter what version you use.
I provided you link to our documentation, it explain what prerequisites you need to allow remote video upload.
Without them video may be uploaded but will be not converted.
Hello
But we don`t care converted or not - we need to be displayed and to play...
Abot 1 year ago - we have started using jomsocial - and never seen so many complications - they was working with out cron also they was not required to be converted - we don`t need conversions - we need that to be simply uploaded, displayed and play...
Hi, Gabriela.
You need to care about conversion :)
There are many types of video files, the only suitable for web playback are ogg, mov, mp4 and flv.
So if your user upload videos in mpeg, avi or any other format - they won't play unless they will be converted to supported format.
Also if videos are not processed - no thumbnail or video image will be displayed.
Conversion is made by FFMPEG library - it must be installed on your server (in one of latest versions) and you need to add path to that library in JomSocial video configuration.
This should be considered as system requirements if you want to allow users to upload videos.
I'm guessing that before you used just videos from YT or similar services.
I'm sorry but without FFMPEG and cron job videos will be not converted ergo not available to view.
