JomSocial Expired Socialize Expired

Hi,

I made the upgrade to JomSocial 4.1.1 by Extension Management -> Upload Package File in Joomla as described here:
http://www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/30094-cannot-upgrade-ijoomla-components
After this upgrade all Group and Event posts were gone. This was not that big issue as we recently started with our platform.
But can you please resolve this problem for further upgrades?

Cheers,
Max

Hi, Max.

To check what actually happen I need: access to copy of your site before upgrade (set on your server), access to your site after upgrade and access to databases of both sites.

For start - if you don't have backup copy installed yet - I'll need access to your current site (after upgrade) database. Activities may be NOT deleted but just archived. I'll check that.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi Michal,

Thanks! No, I have no current copy of the site before upgrade...

Hi, Max.

So you mean that you rolled back to copy BEFORE upgrade? So all posts are on their place?
Then do a safe copy of your site again and I'll try to do upgrade, ok?

Could you provide access to DB or I may install special tool on your site?

Hi Michal,

No, we didn't roll back - we're working with 4.1.1 now.
Sure, feel free to install that tool.

Cheers,
Max

Hi, Max.

Posts are still in database. They are just archived. I saw that you set 1 day for unarchived posts. So I changed it to 9999. So now posts will be archived after 9999 days.

If you want your posts back you need to un-archive them. I executed this in PHPmyAdmin:

<sorry can't post SQL here>

So all posts are back :D

Hi Michal,

after upgrading again some of the posts are gone.
Can you please explain in steps what you did, so I could do this in the future?
Would be great!

Thanks in advance,
Max

Hi, Max.

First of all I changed settings here: i.imgur.com/YxyG3iC.png
Then I logged in to your database and executed this SQL query: i.imgur.com/gImtskL.png
I used Artadminer so didn't logg to your db really... but you may use PHPmyAdmin to do the same.

Hi Michal,

Sorry I have to re-open this case:
JomSocial is always archiving and no more showing old group entries.
I always have to do this cron job thing every week to get older entries shown.

If there is such a way: Can you please set this that it will go automatically?

Thanks,
Max

Hi Max,

well, I am not sure why this issue happens, since on our installer code we dont have the code for archiving the stream.

I just checked your cron job setting also fine, if this issue happened in the future, you can simply run the query from michal.

thank you!

Hi Dimas,

thanks for your mail. The problem is, that this happens quite often, so that I have to do this at least once a week and my users keep asking about the older group entries... Would be great if you'd find a workaround to solve this.

Cheers,
Max

Hi Max,

I suggest you do database backup before you upgrade, so we will know what happens around and can debug it.

thank you
