I've purchased both jomsocial and socialize a few days ago.
I don't have an option to install socialize with the iJoomla installer (it's not in the list) and jomsocial doesn't recognise it in the templates (it only shows the default template).
you can see socialize at joomla backend > extensions > template manager. at jomsocial template it self, you will not find socialize template, becuase socialize not overrides jomsocial template. (still using default template)
FYI: you need to setup modules positions to sidebar-1 for socialize right side position
So the site uses the default template in the extensions > template manager (socialize) even if the jomsocial template is set to default in the jomsocial > configurations > templates?
I want to add modules under the "js_side_frontpage" which as I understand are positions in the jomsocial default template... or am I completely out of it?
How do I add a module "my events" or "Discussions" for instance under the communities > "My Groups" module
I read your documentation "Built-in Module Positions" but I don't have any js_xxx_yyy positions available apart from the js_side_frontpage (3 positions), and if I use these I don't see anything. I feel that I have a basic misunderstanding of how this template or jomsocial works and would appreciate your helping me with this issue. Did you change the positions in socialize2?
this location:
jomsocial > configurations > templates
only for jomsocial template, it means for jomsocial elements, not website template, e.g: sharebox, streams, etc
