I did that. I made registered group parent as public. Now I am able to create user but I still receive the error "Invalid token".
Now joomla registration works fine but still unable to complete jomsocial registration process.

Please check on the site which you have setup locally by changing permissions of registered user. and check for the error .Once error is resolved let me know the changes then i will merge those changes in my file..

at local copy i can't replicate that issue ("Invalid Token"). please try this:
- emptying this table jos_community_register_auth_token and jos_community_register
- disable this plugins: Invitex-User Registration, System - JFBCSystem

Let me know the result. If still "Invalid token" please provide me administrator access detail.
