Hi, Andrew.

I'll disappoint you :) There is no issue.This is designed to work that way. Let me explain it.

If you set a link in main menu that links to home of JomSocial all menu items in JomSocial toolbar will have the same item ID. So none of this links will have own alias (default will be used).

But why it worked for www.opgroeigids.nl/mijn-details/profiel you may as...
Well, take a closer look on that. In link we have "Mijn details" but this menu item is called "Mijn Profiel".
It's because in "User menu" you created a link to JomSocial page - so you created a menu item ID for that. And alias was taken from there.

You can create menu items to fetch menu item ID but only for main menu items in JomSocial toolbar. So it meas that as for now you couldn't have a nice menu aliases for submenus.

JomSocial toolbar is a bit other thing than the rest of Joomla! menus. Its intended to be a menu for internal communication.

I hope that I explained it enough clear. If not, please read this documentation: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Toolbar_Explained .

I reverted all my changes... but for sure please check if everything is alright.

As for duplicated menu item types. I isolated the problem and asked our developers for advise. Soon as I'll have solution I'll fix it or tell you how to fix it by your own.

Thanks, however it is a bit strange as I have seen other JomSocial sites (in other languages than english) where the URL's are in the language of the site (not English), so why can we not have our URLs in Dutch:

1) URLs - e.g.
www.opgroeigids.nl/community/ friends - friends should be vrienden
www.opgroeigids.nl/community/groups/ mygroupupdate - group should be groepen, and mygroupupdate should be mijngroepupdate

This goes for Photos, Videos, Events, etc.... Pretty much all JomSocial URLs except for:

www.opgroeigids.nl/mijn-details/profiel

2) 4. Kinderboekenweekspektakel Deventer
(Events/Dagjes uit) - This also has "Events" instead of the Dutch "Evenement"

They cant have aliases as they don't have own menu item ID.

Yes, you could have it, but not in JomSocial toolbar. You can try if for yourself. Display JomSocial toolbar as a menu somewhere else than in toolbar - you'll have correct links in that menu. So it doesn't work in JomSocial toolbar as it is internal communication in JomSocial.

About second issue... I'm not sure if I understand it well... could you show it on printscreen on provide a link?

to replicate:

go to dev site - use standard "Search" box in top right (Zoeken) - type "Deventer" and Search.

The results page will contain events, etc... from JomSocial. Those are in English...

But don't worry I know how to fix that :)

1. Browse via FTP to: ROOT/plugins/search/jssearch/jssearch.php
2. Edit file and change in line 881 from

. ' CONCAT_WS("/", "'.JText::_( 'Events' ).'", c.name) AS section'

to
. ' CONCAT_WS("/", "'.JText::_( 'Evenement' ).'", c.name) AS section'

As you see text "Events" was hard coded... developer should use here a language constant - you can use it also. Just create your own constant "MY_CONSTANT_FOR_EVENTS" and use it as a override in Joomla! override section.

Okay, so do I need to make the change in the code as well as doing the Language Overrides in Joomla or can I do only the Language Overrides?

that is for Events?

Do I need to do the same for Groups, Photos, etc...?

Yes. I saw that all of them are hard coded e.g line 303 for Albums.
Look for "AS section" because this loads certain text to php variable $section
And for all of them change rule will be the same.

"MY_CONSTANT_FOR_EVENTS" this is just an example. You can use your own constant - then you need to enter it in language overrides. Or look for corresponding constant in JomSocial language file and use it - this should also work.

I asked for advise our developers - now they work really hard to close JomSocial 3.2.
As soon I will have update for this, I'll let you know or just fix it for you.
