Greetings Pro's,
This may be for Dimas as he has been looking into this thread related to this old thread,
www.jomsocial.com/forum/groups/30355-featured-groups-module
.
This module, "MT Featured Groups", is not working. As my site currently sits, there are no featured groups, but this module is still showing NHL teams. I have changed this many times per Dimas's instructions and it still is not working. I have now removed all the featured groups and the module, when empty, should not show, but it's still showing with NFL teams in it. I have removed all those teams from the featured groups list and then added the greatest team in the history of the NFL, the New England Patriots of course, but it will not show up.
There must be something here that I am not seeing. I am sorry Dimas if this lands on your lap again, but I need this to work. Please take another look.
Thanks,
David
Dimas,
I appreciate you're diligence in this mess with this module, but I have to tell you, it's still not working for me. Look, to make this simple, can you please just set three teams to Featured. Those 3 teams are in the NFL and they are the New England Patriots, The Cincennati Bengals, and the Carolina Panthers. I am sorry to ask you to do this for me, but it is very important that these teams are featured on the landing page. That is exactly what will help my visitors become members. I will continue to look into this, but it's just not working on my end. I have followed your directions to a "T", but it's just not working.
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
I am not sure this is cache issue or not, but I need cpanel access to inspect this further.. ACtually the configuration is fine so far
thank you
Dumas,
I am more than happy to give you access to my C-Panel, but could you please tell me how to supply you with that? I could place it in this thread, but because you and others have told me, it's not very smart :).
Thanks Dimas,
David
Hi David,
Edit the first post
www.jomsocial.com/index.php?option=com_k...d=30466&mesid=147538
and provide it under "Miscellaneous"
thank you!
Dimas,
I am sorry to have let this go for so long. I have now added all the information I think you need and more to access my C-Panel. So you know, this module still is not working on my end. I am able to get just one Featured Group to show up and that is all. The featured members module is working perfectly, so I just don't understand. I know you pro's can do just about anything so I am sure this issue is in good hands with you Dimas.
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
I already inspected this further, and i found bug here.. already reported to our developer to fix this later
thank you
Dimas,
Thank you so much for digging into this for me. It is working and it's exactly what I wanted. Thanks you so much for your diligence in this.
Take care,
David
Hi, David.
Please do safe copy of those files:
ROOT/components/com_community/libraries/featured.php
ROOT/modules/mod_community_groups/mod_community_groups.php
Then replace original files by uploading content of package to main Joomla! folder by FTP.
Michal,
Thank you for sending these replacement PHP files to me. I placed both files, mod_community_groups.php and featured.php into the following directory -> public_html
I don't know if I understood you very well as I don't really know what the main Joomla! folder. If this is not the correct path to place these files, please give me a better path to follow as this still is not working. The old files have been safely saved to my local computer if needed for something, but this "Featured Groups" module still is not working. I did not delete any of the files from the old paths. I just overwrote them into the original folder than added both .php files to the public.html folder directly as well. I am sorry if I am making this more confusing than needs be, but I really don't understand most of this stuff.
If it's easier for you to just add these files yourself, please feel free as I have added all the necessary information to get into my C-Panel on my account with you.
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
I already uploaded that file..
thank you!
Dimas,
I know you did something last week to fix this, but it's not working again. I did nothing to this. You fixed it, it worked for a couple days, now it's not working again.
Yesterday I got a message you can read from Michal and I did exactly as he asked and uploaded two php files into the root directory after first replacing the existing files with the two files Michal sent me in there original location and nothing has changed, it's still behaving as it did prior to you fixing it.
On my end, it's a minor issue as it's just not allowing me to add featured groups and will only show the one Vets group no matter what I do. I would just like to be able to show all the featured groups as it allows my visitors to see more of what is on MADD Talent.
I know you are all very busy and that this bug will get resolved in what I imagine will be a new minor release in the near future, but if you have time to fix it once again on my site, it would be appreciated greatly.
Thank you,
David
Hi David,
Seems I also have the same issue on our latest dev code.. I will discuss this with our developer.
thank you!
