Greetings Pro's,
I would like to add a new module to the index or home page of my website, www.madd-talent.com , that will display the groups that I have set up as "Featured". Now, specifically, I want this module to display these "Featured Groups" only on the landing index page when someone first comes to my site. After they log in as a member, i'm not worried if it shows. None-the-less, I have already set-up a module that displays groups, but, it shows the groups that you, the member, has created. This is fine after a member signs in. But, when someone visits my site and lands on the home page, I want them so see the groups that I have designated as featured groups. This is particularly important for my site as it's a sports related social media site and as the teams have games, I need to have them listed on the landing index or home page so that my visitors will join the site. If this is possible, please tell me how to do this.

Thanks,

David

Dimas,
Thank you for doing that for me. While it was very kind of you to do it for me, saving me the work of learning to do it myself, I did not learn how to do it myself. "Give a man a fish, and he eats that day. Teach him to fish and he eats the rest of his life." LOL! But don't worry. I appreciate you doing this for me. If you lived close by, I would by you a beer to say thanks for your kind support.

Take care,

David

Dimas,
Goo day. Sorry to bring this back up, but this featured group, which I love by the way, only shows Featured NHL groups. I need this to show any group on the site that is featured. Is there a setting somewhere within this module that I can change to do this on the back end?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

You should set the featured by yourself, as Admin go to all groups and you can set the featured group from there.

but, seems you need increase the limit featured item from Jomsocial backend->Configuration->Layout->Featured Item and Listing

thank you

Dimas,
Good day and thank you again. I don't know if I am understanding your last post. I set up the groups on my site the way I believe your last post explained very clearly. Currently, there are no NHL or hockey teams set as featured. There are however 4 or 5 NFL or football teams set up as featured, but the module is showing NHL or hockey teams in it and it's not displaying any of the NFL or football teams that are featured.
If you don't mind, would you please look into this and if I have something wrong, please explain it so I can manage this featured module correctly. I do apologize for asking, but this is a main attraction on my site to get visitors to register.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

You should remove all current featured members on this page www.madd-talent.com/groups/display?sort=featured

and then search the group do you want to be featured like I explained here www.jomsocial.com/forum/groups/30355-fea...groups-module#147336

cheers!

Dumas,
I have done exactly as you have described here. At this point, there are only 3 featured groups on my site. All 3 are NFL football teams and the index or landing page or home page, is still only showing the 5 NHL hockey teams. None of these groups are featured so they should not be showing up. Can you please take a look at this module and fix it?

Thanks,

David
