Timezones don't change per members selected timezone
When creating events, the times on the events that I create show correctly for me. But the members of my site are in different time zones and have also updated their time zone in their profile accordingly. The events don't show the correct time for their particular time zone. Is there an option I need to turn on?
i.e. I create an event for 6pm in Pacific Time Zone (Set to Los Angeles in my profile.) I can see the event begins at 6pm, but my members who have selected a different time zone also see the event begins at 6pm.
Shouldn't the event times show correctly for whichever time zone is selected? I hope I've explained this correctly.
- date and time in events are nod DYNAMICAL. When you create event you set a date and time and also time zone. But all of this is fixed and it's only an information saying that certain event will take place ta this day, this time in specific time zone. Date and time will be not recalculated for other users that have set different timezone. They will need to calculate time of event for their timezone them self.
As like in your example: event for 6pm in Pacific Time Zone - for me (I'm in CEST but in +1 GMT) - will be displayed as "6pm in Pacific Time Zone". So I need to calculate myself that this event will take place -9 h (PST is -8 and CEST is +1 = -9) so at 9 am same day but GMT +1.
So in summa: event date is fixed and will not be recalculated if other user set different time zone for their accounts.
