I'm having issues with getting the Russian translation to work, It won't switch for some reason. I've been debuggin the language and it comes up with some syntax errors but strangely enough its for example:
PHPJROOT/language/ru-RU/ru-RU.com_community.iniPHP parser errors :syntax error, unexpected '=' in Unknown on line 1873
This line is fine. Here is how it looks in English:
COM_COMMUNITY_ORGANIZED_BY="%1$s.<br>Organized by <a href=_QQQ_%3$s_QQQ_>%2$s</a>"
So for sure not this line cause trouble.
Translations are contributed by community and we don't support them. The only way to find broken line is to:
- copy English language file to your language folder and rename it to ru-RU.com_community.ini
- then copy block by block translation from original ru-RU.com_community.ini
- each time you copy one block, check in frontend if changes are applied
- repeat it till after coping certain block translation will be gone - it will mean that corrupted line is in that block
- then review block line by lie or copy line by lie so you'll find corrupted one.
I'm sorry but that's the only way.
Issue may be caused by use or lack of closing tags like ", ' or ;

Good catch. If you have doubts - just post suspicious strings on forum.
