Before every backup is recommended to create a safe copy of whole file system and database.
Settings are saved in database so even after JomSocial uinstall the should stay there.
If you use template overrides (copying template files to "html" folder of your template) your customizations should be safe to.
If you use core hacks, then you need to have safe copy of hacked files.
The best way to upgrade is to uinstall JomSocial and all extensions related to it and the install it again.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
I saw Joomla templates which gives information about which template files are modified.
Would be very nice to find all the modified files from the core hacks.
