I am using socialize template for a section of my site and need to add uikit to it and was wondering how and where I would do that, My main theme is yootheme pro which uses the uikit.

Socialize template is based on T3 framework and Bootstrap 3
If you want to use some of the external style classes in the template you can add a new css file /custom.css and define the style in it.
Adding a full framework is not possible as the template has it own framework and style, you need to customise full template to change the framework that is like making a new template to get everything same like 3rd party template.
