Yes, that is correct. Many modules ware rebuild from scratch, that's why they have changed.
New module just do not have karma bars.... actually this could be added using customization but this will require help of a developer.

Hi Michał, I made a discovery. The JS Top Members does work but none of the old karma carries to the new version.
I created a new member while testing and I posted under my other username and they appeared in the Top Members module.
It looks like all my members will be starting new karma records, which is not a problem.

I have message from developer: old version of top members module using user points as ranking. But for new version of Top Members module not using user points anymore, but using statistic data that stored at database.
