After updating JS to 4.5:
1) type message
2) do not attach any picture
3) post message
4) press F5 to refresh page
Result: new sended has "photo thumbnail" text in it.

Looked at that thread and it seems that chat messages disappear. Is the patch file broken or is there a new fixed one?

Gavin, I get the same problem (messages disappeared) after patch applaying.
So I had to upload original JS4.5’a files.

I installed test-package on test-site 2018.***.ru and turned off template override and seems problem is fixed :)
Now there is no "photo thumbnail" phrase and previous messages loads again if scroll up.
But I don't hurry up to update life site (would like to wait new version). Thanks.

Haha I did see it afterwards and I replied :)
Is it not safe for a live site? That is where the issue is at present.. If not I can wait for next jomsocial revision if it's fixed there... And if so when might be the next bugfix update?

Another customer already applied it, and works fine.. but if you find something bad just revert again to stable version 4.5

when can we expect the fix in the regular update?
