ISSUE SUMMARY:
Hi,
Can you guide me in customizing the landing page(Get connected page).
i want to remove the getconnected image. add my own template design, images and css.
I have come across overriding the existing templates. but i'm not sure where exactly to start.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1. Go to
thinkbucketlist.com/index.php/en/
2. I want to remove the getconnected image i want to style it my own way.i tried to edit the file components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/frontpage/base.php
Thank you for contacting us.
First you should read this documentation:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Customizing_Template
It contains general rules regarding layout overrides.
File that contain frotpage login screen is located here: ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/frontpage/guest.php
You should copy it to: ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community/layouts/frontpage (if you don't have those folders - feel free to create them)
You may add CSS styling to your current template main cess file.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thanks for the quick help. I was trying to modify the base.php instead of guest.php.
I will work on customizing guest.php and let you know if i face any further issues.
I have tried adding my own design into the guest.php file. It is working fine but whatever i add is appending inside this div with id "t3-content".
How can i avoid it.Please look at the below link:
thinkbucketlist.com/index.php/en/
Whatever i add is restricted to that container div.
Because it's general template container. You can't avoid it. Any component content is displayed in that container.
To change that you'll need to rebuild/customize your template.
