ISSUE SUMMARY:

I am using the community toolbar for the socialize template and was wondering can I add some search function to it. As it is now all you can search for using the community toolbar is a member or a friends name which is registered on the site. If i search for a group or a event via the groups name or the events name all it gives me an error of "Sorry, we are unable to locate the person you are looking for."

What I asking is:
1. Can I add the groups + events to the search function of the community toolbar
2. When you create a group at some stage you need to fill in a full description of the group. Now the only way you can search for that group is via the name of the group. Will it be possible to make it easier for a user to find a group if you can take some keywords out of the full description or maybe if I put in a default drop down list with a unique id or class name that will link with the search function or any other way because if there is 100 groups with basically the same name all of them will display if a user search for a group with a name more or less the same as the other groups. This will make my website just more user friendly.

If you ask if you can customize search function - the answer is yes.
If you ask if we can help you with it - the answer is: sorry, we can't do that.

This will be a rather extensive customization and will require JS core hack.

Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions. Also core hack will be overwritten during upgrade.
