I inserted the icons on my menu that I use socialize template but they don't have the place between icons and menus

1. I love the space between menu and icon is 5px
2. Could you tell how could I insert that code into which CSS file that to keep it forever even though I update a new socialize or Jomsocial, the file still there no override.

please put this CSS at /templates/socialize/css/custom.css (create the file if not exist yet)
