I would like to hide "hello me" for groups pages. I trying using menu assignment but i am not sure why it is not working. see attachments. Thanks!

Well, this is default bahavior.. which the module assignment only will respect the parent of menu..

for further infomration I will ask this to our project manager.

I see this is a bug, I noticed something else that may help, when you go to group pages (not logged in) a lot of items that should show only at the homepage are showing. I think this is a variation of same issue.

we already reported similiar issue like this months ago, but rejected by our project manager since this is default behavior.. but well personally I totally agree with you, this is a valid bug and should be fixed :)

I already re-created the ticket for this issue to our developer.

it is a very serious issue, in this case. h1 and text from homepage will be showing in groups page, this will totally screw up my rank SEO wise when I put in live site. if this is indeed common behavior the what is the common solution to it? I am more worried about the second part of the problem than the first.....I can live with hellow me there. but the other issue is very serious...

I know and understand it..but please you wait the feedback from the developer first

There is no solution, you cant configured the module assigment like that on jomsocial :( I suggest you use another solution / plan for module menu assigment

Ehm I see, actually this issue can be solved easily on old version, because we had the module position above the hero banner on frontend, ok I will provide you the solution to re-enable that module position, please you open this file components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/frontpage/guest.php, add this code :
