How do I get the activity stream to show on my home page?
Probably a silly question but I'm new to Joomla too so the learning curve is pretty steep

You have 2 options :

1. enable module activity stream and set to your home page
2. set jomsocial page as default home page.

Thanks Dimas but I've run into a slight problem trying to do Number two.

I tried to set the jomsocial page to the default home page by going to the main menu and changing the home link to community>home

But when I do this the registration link in the toolbar changes and when I try to register a new member I get the following error:

Session expired. Please try again later.

Can you provide me backend access, please? so I can debug this issue.

I tried your currect backend on [REMOVED] and [REMOVED] but the backend on both site are not working.

Can you please remove the links to my site on the post above this one. I just prefer to have control over where its linked to from :)

I change session handle to none instead database, and set jomsocial as home page and then register to your site, everything is fine, I can register very well.

Where did you go to change "session handle" just so I know.
I don't learn unless I do things myself :-)

You can find it from Joomla global configuration->system->Session Settings
