ISSUE SUMMARY: I would like to customize the frontpage to my desired design. After reading through a thread with the link below

i did as instructed. However, there was a grey background colour that appeared after removing the code from line 13-82
How do i remove the grey background that appears on the frontpage.

Do you mean the grey color with paragraph? or which one? please provide me the screenshoot.

If you wanna remove the gret color with paragraph, you can set it from theme manager->genaral, and set this setting 'Show frontpage paragraph' to No
