We recently decided to remove Gantry and it's associated framework and opt for Socialise template v2 instead to compliment the JomSocial installation, following a number of issues resulting in the Gantry template being the likeliest cause of some of our site rendering issues.
It seems that the socialise template and JomSocial v4.x theme settings do not offer an option to insert a background image into the template, only colours.

Is there any existing method I'm not aware of where I can add a background image to a Socialise v2 template?

Hi,

What background do you mean? do you mean body background? if body background you can simply add this css code :

body{
background : url(....);
}

thank you

I am aware that I can alter the background image using CSS, My question was, why couldn't a simple option be included in the theme settings, rather than having to alter the CSS manually. With additional settings for fixed/floating and tiled formats.

That is shame, many users on my site say they would like to see something other than a single solid colour background. Many template designers accommodate the ability to alter the template's background. Why would it be so difficult to add customisable backgrounds to the Socialise v2 template.

Hi, Zurkster.

I'm in charge of Socialize Template project. I'll talk with template developer if we could implement such a feature in next major release of template.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal, thanks for your reply, I do have a couple of unrelated template questions to answers that seem to allude me.

I want to create a rounded corner and control less padding in the stream articles to reduce white-space on each entry. can this be done and if so can you let me know how! LOL

I have looked over the Socialise modules and template settings on the Socialise customisation pages, but cannot find anything even remotely related to the above requirements.

Hi, Zurkster.

As for background settings this need to be implemented in T3 framework first... and as far I remember the planned to do that. So we need to wait for T3 developer.

Please, post a printscreen and mark on it what you want to change. nearly anything is possible with custom css ;)

Well I purchased the new Socialise template today, and guess what no signs of the option to add a background in the theme or template settings. Quite a simple and yet essential feature (many people want to use images not solid colours for backgrounds).

Is this so hard to add as a feature???
I was informed by staff that the new JS update requires the latest version of socialise template. Why couldn't have something like this have been added. I do pay a considerable repeat subscription to JS and Socialise template. Where's a little loyalty reward?

HI, Zurkster.

Socialize 2.1 was bug fix and upgrade to work well with JomSocial 4.1.
It doesn't contain new features yet.
I remember your request and it's on our TODO list.
We hope to add it on next release.
