Greetings Pro's,
I recently needed to reload my website,
www.madd-talent.com
and when I did this I also needed to re-install Socialize and the modules that come with it. Now when you log into my site, the Socialize menu looks like the JSN Air Pro template menu that I had with my old template prior to using Socialize. Also, not only is that different, the tabs that appear below a members profile image do not show up any longer. If you take a second and look at my site, it looks like many of the modules are a cross between my old JSN Air Pro template and my new Socialize template. Can you please look at this and see if you can figure this out so I can get my site back to the way it was Friday morning before I had the PHP error problem with Joomla?
Thanks,
David Martin
Hi, David.
Yes, content (modules, articles and so on) are separated from design (templates). So they are shared among templates. So what you need to do now is to assign modules to proper positions of Socialize template or JomSocial built-in modules.:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Built-in_Module_Positions
socialize.jomsocial.com/explore/module-positions
Please, read your previous threads...
Michal,
I am sorry. My first thought was to read my previous threads, but I un-subscribed to them and now I have no idea where to find them. I have tried searching but I can't seem to find them. I will never un-subscribe from a thread I create again and I am sorry for all this extra work. My intent is to get this site back up and functioning today and then create my own back-up regularly so I don't need to go back weeks.
Sorry,
David
Michal,
Please correct me if I am wrong, but when I load this template, socialize, fresh, does it not place all these modules and plug-ins in the correct zone to start. This is now the second time I have had to rebuild my site since switching to Socialize, for problems I don't understand like that PHP error with joomla. However, when I reloaded last time and re-installed Socialize and the modules, they all worked. Can't I just re-install Socialize to fix all of this and my site will work properly again?
Thanks,
David
Hi, David.
No, changing template doesn't affect modules and their settings - in this case module position... unless all positions in two different templates are the same name.
