Greetings,
Is it possible to change my index page image to one of the modules that automatically changes the images. I would like for my home page to have 4 to 7 images that I like. It would be very good if I could place a picture module in this zone and then instead of having one photo contantly there, I coujld have a series of images that changes. This would also allow me to change these photo's to current events that are popular and have them show up on the index page as well. If this is possible, could you please explain how I would do this?
You're asking for slider module that replaces JomSocial hero/frontpage image.
Well, is was thinking about something like that some time ago...
But this will rather developed as independent project ;)
As for now you could only ask for feature like that here:
uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Michal,
Thanks and this is what I expected. In all honesty, one image may be what's best as this is my landing index page and that is part of branding my site which will be very important as I get HUGE! LOL. I may add it to the page you suggested, but I still don't know if it's smart to do that. My problem is that I just can't seem to find a good image that represents my site which is a sports social media site. Maybe what I have is just fine.
Well, slider module that takes photos from certain JomSocial album is that what I have in mind for some time... but it requires time. And I can't create it as JomSocial staff... so this will take a bit more time.
But anyway there could be much simple solution. Just remove JomSocial frontpage image and add module position there. Then you could use ANY Joomla! slider to display rotating images.
Still I need some time to provide you a snippet for it - as for now customizations are suspended till we settle things on forum down. I add your request to my TODO list ;)
