I'm not sure if this is a Jomsocial issue or Socialize issue so I will just post this here.

I want to know how to fix this:

Photos posted in the activity stream comments get cut into a perfect square. This should really show the whole photo since it is a comment and not a thumbnail in a gallery. (see attachment)

That is default bahavior, you can click the thumb for getting the correct dimension.

Seems like a bug to me. It's a comment activity stream, I think people would rather see a small version of the full photo rather than part of it. Cutting it off might be ok for thumbnails for a photo gallery but in a discussion it seems to be undesirable. I guess this is a feature request more than anything.
