Since starting to use the Socialize template, karma points are no longer showing. I'm getting messages such as the following in our server error log:

File does not exist: .../joomla/components/com_community/templates/default/images/karma-0.5-5.gif, referer: http://www.[domain]/community/....

In the JomSocial admin area -> Profiles -> Karma, the images shown there are .png files.

Am I just missing files? Should they be gif or png files?

or send us ftp info by editing your first post.

I did a search of my JomSocial installation and we only have the karma-#-#.png files.

Could you attach a copy of those gif files or point me to the entire package to download (whichever package we previously downloaded did not install those files).

I just went to message one above and cut & pasted the admin url and it worked. Did you following the misc information instructions I gave there? Otherwise, you won't be able to located the admin url since it isn't the standard Joomla location. It worked for me right now. Or was the password rejected?

Anyway, thanks for uploading the files. That helped "somewhat" but did not fix all cases.

See this user profile page . You'll note that the template is trying to load an image named "/.gif" which doesn't exist. Also, I had to rename one image to "karma-0.5-5.gif" to get it to work. So something is still amiss.

Well, that means the problem isn't fixed yet. So what's next?

1) It looks like it is not just a matter of having the images available in the file system as the JomSocial is attempting to call a file which neither exists nor really should exist (/.gif) [example user: go2dbeach].

2) Also, why shouldn't we have the template set to "Socialize" when we are using the master Socialize template?

First i am really sorry for the time it has taken for you to get a response, i will be looking into why that has happened.

Regarding the karma issue i have had a really good look at this issue and it is a bit of a mystery for me, i logged into your site and when to the profile of the logged in user. The socialize template is loaded and all the Karma images are appearing. I know Ash was telling you to replace images so i assumed maybe you have substituted karma-0-505.gif so it works.

I looked in the debug console and i can see that jomsocial is calling the correct image Karma-05-5.png. See screenshot

one other thing i noticed in one of your replies which may answer the issue is

The socialize template is a joomla site template and the menu link in jomsocial called templates is an internal "theme, In jomsocial 3X. We removed all the internal templates so it is only the default one, You should only ever use the "default" one unless the template provider uses this old method of themes. If you select socialize in this section then you will get unpredictable results as it is a joomla template not a jomsocial theme. Yes it does show in the list but it should not be selected. see screen shot



Because of this i'm not sure if the issue has been resolved by something you have done or perhaps if you have upgraded from a previous version of jomsocial the Internal template you used before was selected instead of the default one selected now

I have also fixed the issue you were having with entering the admin url in the correct field.

If i have misunderstood or the issue is still not resolved please reply and i can look into it further for you

Thank you for looking at this. All the same, the karma points image is not showing properly for this user as per message #88496 (point #1). Notice that JomSocial is trying to display an image named simply ".gif" which doesn't exist.

So how to get that fixed?
