Menus do not expand on Android mobile

Hi,

I have checked the forums and see this issue is reported elsewhere:

On an Android phone, menus that include sub menus do not expand at all, when the user clicks on the parent menu link, it just takes them back to the main profile page. The show menu at all times is set to on.

I have just noticed too that in my Menus there are now 3 Jomsocial Toolbars. I am assuming each time I upgrade (as I have when the socialize template was updated, or jomsocial itself is) that it is creating these duplicate menus?

This is critical to our network, given that most of our users will be mobile. Has the problem been fixed? If not, is there a quick fix solution?

Hi, Melanie.

Yes, it is known bug and our developers working to fix it. Please follow our blog: www.jomsocial.com/blog new version of JomSocial will be announced there.

If you change name of menu type in Menu Menager of jomSocial toolbar than yes, it will be recreated during upgrade.

You have three JomSocial toolbar with three different menu type names "mainmenu", "jomsocialold", " jomsocial". Upgrade installer check if menu type "jomsocial" exist. If not, then create one.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi Michal,

thanks for the response. I have now resolved the duplicate menu issue.

For the menu not expanding issue, Is there a quick fix we can apply until the update comes out?

This is the third time I have sent this response, for some reason my posts are not being saved.

Ah, I have just answered my own question. It doesn't seem to submit if I use the Quick Reply

Yes, there could be a quick fix for that :)

Find this file: ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/css/style.css.

Copy it to: ROT/templates/yourTemplateName/html/com_community/css/

Then find this line: "#community-wrap .js-toolbar .dropdown-menu {display: none !important;} (yes, I know, this file is minified and everything is in one line...) If you ind it just delete "display: none !important;" between braces.

Now dropdown will appear after hovering Profile and Friends.
