Slow loading time

1) I just installed Publisher but it is extremely slow to load. I'm guessing that is because it is loading all of our 600,000+ articles which are 99% JReviews articles.

- If that is the problem, is there a way to avoid loading all of those?

2) In our case, we don't intend to use *any* of those articles for Publisher. Any articles that we would need would be outside of the JReviews categories.

- Is it possible instead to define different categories to load such as a "Publisher" or "News" category only?

I tried to edit the first post to input the credentials but that form isn't there. I believe the credentials input form wasn't there either when I created the message.

Oh... you have so many articles. Publisher tries to load them all... when I tried to access content section of Publisher I encountered error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1585446912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 80 bytes) in /home/www/html/subs/joomla/libraries/joomla/database/driver/mysql.php on line 425

Memory was exhausted tried to load all articles. And there is no setting to load articles from selected category. Articles are loaded from com_content...

I'll ask Publisher developers for advice. So I mark this thread as Pending Support.

I talked with iJoomla developers. They ask you to open a support ticket in Publisher forum: www.ijoomla.com/component/kunena/publisher-pro/ and provide administrator and FTP credentials.

Sorry for the delay in getting our ftp working properly. I've updated the admin credentials in the first post above. So you should now be able to access the site. Please note in the bottom comment area in the form the proper login url since the form rejects it.

Hi Rick,
I saw the issue and indeed is because of the big amount of data that needs to be processed when publisher is sync with joomla content. You said that you have a lot of articles in some category and you don't need them under publisher, but I am looking in Category manager under Joomla and they are a lot:
www.travel.com/administrator/index.php?o...xtension=com_content
can you please tell me which categories from list are needed in Publisher? or if is easier which are not needed? from the above list? then I will try to limit the query and I hope that publisher area will become faster.

Frankly, none of the current articles on our site would be published. So I just now created a single new category named "Publications" that I can put articles to be published.

Hi Rik,
I added a condition in code and only that category will be loaded.
I did some custom changes in the following files:
1. /administrator/components/com_publisher/models/articles.php
2. /administrator/components/com_publisher/helpers/amcharts/daily_chart.php
3. /administrator/components/com_publisher/views/publisher/view.html.php
is good to have a backup of them.
